Roland (Dale) D. Peddicord

Dale retired from the practice of law in January 2022.

It's safe to say Peddicord Wharton wouldn't be what it is today without Roland Dale Peddicord. Not only did he found Peddicord Wharton, he also worked his entire career to make it one of the most preeminent civil trial practices in Iowa.

Known for his penchant for problem solving and negotiating, attorneys from far and near turned to Dale for advice. And so did clients needing help. Dale was a leading attorney in the field of litigation involving aviation, motor vehicles, product liability, and medical negligence.

Notable career achievements:

Dale was recognized with the following: Certified Civil Trial Specialist, National Board of Trial Advocacy, Board Certified Mediator, and American Arbitration Association (AAA) Certified Arbitrator.

As a Board Certified Mediator, he served in a wide array of matters from high stakes class action lawsuits involving national corporations, commercial claims, professional negligence matters and motor vehicle accidents to workers' compensation actions and product liability disputes. He mediated more than 600 cases with a 97% success rate.

His other accomplishments included the 1998 Recipient of Distinguished Service Award, Drake University, 1996 Recipient of Golden Bulldog Award Drake University, Past Chairperson of the Bulldog Scholarship Fund Board of Drake University, Past Chairman of the Drake University Annual Corporate Fund, Francis Marion Drake Society President's Club, Past Chairman of Drake University Campaign for Drake Law School and Member of Leland S. Forrest Society.

On a personal note:

Dale has always been a dedicated member of his community. He's a proud member of the YMCA and has served on the Des Moines Y Board for nearly three decades. He's also served on the National YMCA Board, holding positions such as First Vice chairman. When he's not serving his community, you can find him golfing, reading and spending quality time with his family.
